Richard Robb Architects were briefed with renovating the existing partly derelict farm building to create a modern family home in a spectacular country setting. The design involved the sympathetic conversion of the existing building to maintain its historic character. The modern intervention is proposed to sit within the existing stone walls of the barn, presenting a visual contrast between the old and new elements. Openings have been created within the existing stone walls to frame the stunning countryside views. The finished home will boast an open plan living space, five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
