Luxury Extension

A Modern House extension framing panoramic views of the clyde, with open plan dining space and private sitting room.

This extension to a private home was designed to make the most of panoramic views over the clyde and provide a cosy and welcoming place for our clients to relax in the evening and enjoy their home. Full height glazing combined with stone tiled floors and an overhead rooflight create the illusion of walking outside into the garden. The extension creates an open place space for dining, whilst solid elements to the North elevation and a feature fireplace wall create a more private space for sitting, distinguished from the dining space by a change in floor finish. The Southern elevation features clear storey windows to capture southern light, with an additional rooflight to connect the space to the outdoors. The garden is accessed via an enclosed portal doorway to a discreet courtyard with privacy wall.

The extension has been rendered to blend in with the exsting and neighbouring properties, with timber effect Cedral weatherboard used to finish the soffits and pick out the portal entrance. This cladding is indistinguishable from timber from normal viewing distance, and is long lasting to stand against the harsh coastal wind and salt.

This project is still ongoing and so all work is still 'in progress' but watch this space for further development!
